Chronic sore throat
Chronic pharyngitis occurs in
various forms depending on the disease-causing factors. These include:
infections resulting from recurrent acute inflammation of the throat, tonsils,
nose, paranasal sinuses, as well as irritating effects of tobacco smoke, dust
and dust, alcohol, hot dishes, etc.
Chronic pharyngitis is more common
for people with congenital susceptibility to lesion of the mucous membrane of
the throat.
Symptoms. There is redness of the mucous membrane of the throat,
which becomes dry and shiny, sometimes covered with a drying discharge in the
form of scabs visible behind the tongue. Patients with chronic pharyngitis,
especially in the atrophic with drying out, feel a sore throat of variable intensity, have the impression of an obstacle in
the throat, complain of scratching and burning.
These symptoms diminish or even
disappear during meals, especially when drinking. A characteristic feature of
this disease is the disproportion between subjective symptoms - complaints of
the patient - and objective ones, whereby the symptoms are usually greater than
the changes observed by the examining doctor.
Home treatment supplements
specialist; is based on a systematic quest to keep the mucous membrane in the
right moisture. This can be achieved by rinsing the throat with physiological
solutions available in pharmacies without a prescription. In the case of
nuisance atrophy, which occurs with severe drying out, a great relief is
brought by the throat being rinsed with physiological solutions or by spraying
them in the form of a nasal spray.
At the beginning of the disease,
general and additional tests are necessary: urinalysis, blood counts and
blood glucose.
